I don't know if its the raw amount of jewels and the designer bag that Plies takes into the church or the Patti Labelle sample or the homelessness and crack smoking but something makes me feel uneasy about this video like I don't know what its trying to say to me. I like this song though, Plies has grown on me over time like back hair.
Timbaland's new album drops on Tuesday. I've heard it and I have to be honest that I'm not a big fan. Timbaland has always been a pioneer in the music game but lately his production has seemed a little too formulaic for me. Also, the song he did with Miley Cyrus made me throw up in my mouth a little. I'm all for bending genre's but this is feeble attempt for one man to control top 40 radio. I may not like all the music but I have no doubt Timbaland will succeed in his goal. I did like a couple tracks from the album though. And a bonus because misery loves company.
Talib Kweli has been making great music for a long time. His newest project Idle Warship- "Party Robot" Teaming up with Graph Nobel and Res, two artists with eclectic style and and distinctive voices is definitely worth listen. Here are a few tracks off their recent "Party Robot" mixtape. Album coming soon.
Well, I spent the majority of Thanksgiving Break gorging myself on gravy and mashed potatoes and turkey. A far cry from the 3R diet I have been cultivating in Los Angeles. (Rice Ramen Rum...and usually not in that order) . So when I was able to pull myself away from the kitchen table I stumbled upon a fat batch of firecrackers that I had been sleeping on. Must be the postprandial somnolence (the itis) that Ive been suffering from.
Lets start off with something new. Courtesy of ROC refugee Freeway and Seattle Producer Jake One, comes a banger off their coming joint project "The Stimulus Package" . This beat sounds like something 50 would rip. Maybe 50 can call on Jake One for some help on his next project. Only 181k is not very 50 like, I guess he needs a new formula, I thought the album was dope tho.
